Care tips
TELEVISION
It's recommended that you unplug your television in the following circumstances:
- During a thunderstorm. It is also recommended that you disconnect the aerial antenna if possible as it can be a conductor for lightning.
- If any strange odour or smoke is being emitted from the set.
- If the television is not going to be used for a long time.
- Do not leave your television set on standby for prolonged periods of time as this can cause overheating. It is recommended that you unplug it when not in use.
- Do not cover the back of your television set with materials such as newspapers or other articles, which will prevent adequate ventilation and which could become a fire hazard.
- Your television set will overheat if placed near to sources of heat, or in direct sunlight.
- Dust your television screen regularly as dust will reduce picture quality.
- Use a soft cloth, dipped in mild detergent, to clean your television set. Never use strong solvents such as white spirit or alcohol-based products as these could cause damage.
DVD PLAYER/VCR
- Avoid placing your DVD player/VCR where there is high humidity or dust as both can cause damage to the unit.
- Do not place objects on top of your DVD player/VCR. The ventilation holes are important in preventing overheating and should not be covered.
- If a CD or videocassette gets stuck, turn the power off and seek professional advice. Trying to force the CD or cassette out can cause extensive damage to the unit.
- Always replace all the batteries in your remote control at the same time in order to get maximum utility.
- Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe the casing of your DVD player/VCR. A mild detergent may be used, if necessary.
